TYPES OF FIBERS

Textile knowledge is very important for any designer.The knowledge of the fabric makes the designing process very interesting. Different fabric drapes in different manner, the fabric used for a active sportswear, sleep wear, party wear or a garment worn by a astronomer in the space will be different. So friends i have decided to write a series of articles on basic textiles. To begin i have taken the topic – different types of fibers.

WHAT IS A FIBER?

A Fiber is any substance, natural or manufactured, with high length- to- width ratio and with suitable characteristics for being processes into fabrics; the smallest component, hair like in nature, that can be separated from a fabric.

 

CLASSIFICATION OF FIBER
